Again? But that trick never works!

Actually, you might be wondering why this poll so soon after the other (technically it isn't even time for me to start watching Attack of the Crab Monsters yet). I have a lot of "C" movies. They will require two polls (LJ radio polls are limited to 15 entries). I have even more "D" movies, and they will require three. So, rather than jumping around in the alphabet, I'm bumping these up. So you (lucky you?) will get one poll a week until I'm through "D," after which we will be deep into the alphabet before I have to repeat this silliness.

As we head toward the final hours of 2009 and the end of the Smithee birthday movie project, I wanted to let all you new Smithee peeps who came in at the middle of the project know that we haven't overlooked you. Au contrair, we have had a plan and that plan was to watch a movie for your collective birthdays on the very last day of the year. And so we shall. Happy birthday everyone and thanks for letting me use your birthdays for my crazy Smithee project.

Badmovie's alphabetical movie polls got me thinking -- always a bad sign, and particularly bad in this case because what I thought was, "you know what we need? We need a Smithee A, B, C poem!" Which, naturally, I immediately started writing. But then I realized that anything Smithee should be a collaborative project, so I paused before getting very far. I'll start with the first three letters, the rest of you are invited to continue in the comments.

A is for Ator,
a barbarian who can fly.

B is for Barbarella,
candy for the eye.

C is for Catman,
who always says "fucker."

In case you wanted to go vote for something, the button quote poll for the Smithee 19 quote button is still open. So far, it seems the Leading Cause of Death is leading with a respectable 7 votes but close on its heels is Frankie with a hot life and a removable jacket at just over half the votes. I'm kinda surprised by that, perhaps there is something nostalgic about old school Smithee quotes. Jack off and Sausage Whiskers are tied at 2 and my favorite Italian Superhero and his plan of knowing trails with one vote. That would be mine. *sigh*

I'll be closing this poll and picking the button(s?) latish on December 31st so there is still time for an upset (psst: If we knew what the votes were, we could choose the button already!).

Actually it was perhaps more of the Sultan's nightmare but I had to share. I had a dream we were putting on the A2 Smithee show (ARRRGH! 1800 Chem stairs even in my sleep!) and you all were voting for the clips to not only win the category but to win a date night out. I'm not sure how movie clips can go on a date but that's how it worked. Anyway, one of you didn't want the clip you voted for to go out on a date so you fashioned your ballot as a word search.

I think that's a first in terms of the weird ballots we've gotten and I'm sure the Sultan would appreciate it if word search ballots stayed a figment of my imagination. Don't make me have to bring out the crankiest Ballot Ninja, you would not like the crankiest Ballot Ninja.
